We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our team The Maintenance Manager is a critical team member responsible for providing safe legal and quality products that are compliant with all applicable regulations and customer requirements. Also responsible for managing and maintaining equipment, infrastructure, buildings, and grounds, including supervising a team of maintenance technicians, developing, and executing a maintenance strategy that promotes efficient optimal operations. Provides operational support and implement company safety strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage and maintain site asset base, including building and grounds, utility infrastructure, process and packaging systems, and support areas.
  2. Carry out maintenance strategy to promote efficient and cost-effective operations. Plan and schedule for maintenance activities and all predictive, preventative and breakdown maintenance. Fully implement computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Maintain technical stores and supplies
  3. Manage site repair and maintenance budget. Perform and track expenditures monthly with appropriate controls. Order goods/services. Issue purchase orders, approve and reconcile invoices. Lead the annual budgeting effort.
  4. Recruit, manage, train, develop and support/coach a team of technicians. Promote a productive, quality of work/life environment. Arrange technician schedules. Implement opportunities to further develop and expand technician skills/knowledge. Provide and document training. Communicate regularly, providing updates of company news and strategies. Provide hands-on support as required.
  5. Tactically implement company safety strategies, safe work practices/programs for food safety, process safety, environmental safety, and personnel safety. Ensure GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) HACCP for food safety. Audit and update safety programs as required.
  6. Conduct starts to finish project management, including scope, budget and cash flow forecast, critical path milestone schedule, assembly/management of resources/team, delivery method and commercial arrangements, documentation coordination, tracking and reporting, key stakeholder startup plan, capitalize assets as required and assemble record documentation and closeout.
  7. Provide guidance and support in daily operations, including task planning and coordination, and asset protection.
  8. Promote efficient manufacturing by working as a key member and functioning as a critical participant in cross-functional teams
  9. Additional responsibilities as assigned or necessary.

Job-related Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Strong working knowledge of technical and industry building/grounds and utility infrastructure, including:

  2. Utility Systems

    Steam and condensate; Water and wastewater; Compressed air.

  3. Electrical Building Systems

    Electrical (power/distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and Mechanical (HVAC, plumbing/domestic water, fire sprinklers).

  4. Electrical & Controls:

    Motor control centers/drives; Programmable logic controllers (PLC); Human-machine interfaces (HMI) and other instrumentation.

  5. Maintenance Systems

    Predictive, preventative, and breakdown maintenance; Computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
    Stores and supplies.
  6. Core knowledge, experience, and skill in construction, tooling, crafts, carpentry, building and household maintenance, light industrial, and janitorial functions. Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  7. Strong ability to troubleshoot electrical controls, failures, and panels; and power distribution; effectively and efficiently clearing faults, shorts, interference. Ability to edit PLC programs and troubleshoot electronic control circuits. Strong ability and skill to demonstrate analog loop calibration and instrumentation calibration.
  8. Strong ability to read electrical blueprints, schematic drawings, Piping and Instrumentation Diagram - P&ID and understand interlocks, sequencing, and reference to equipment manuals and related materials.
  9. Strong experience of inspections, including health, safety, with demonstrated ability to foster and maintain a quality of safety and non-hazardous work environment. Current knowledge of Environmental, Health, & Safety, including general OSHA/personnel safety and Personal protective equipment.
  10. Strong working knowledge of meat process and packaging systems, including specialized process equipment and basic food systems (conveyors, liquid systems, etc.)
  11. Proficient (intermediate to advanced) with Office Suite (Word, Excel) and Auto Cad or equivalent.
  12. Excellent planning and organizing skills, with the ability to plan/carry out the plan, develop contingency plans, mitigate risks and work with established master plans. Able to proactively communicate and ensure alignment.
  13. Solid financial budgeting and analysis skills, including forecasting. Command of basic accounting.
  14. Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with proficiency in English, written and verbal.
  15. Solid management, supervisory and organizational skills.
  16. Strong interpersonal/communication skills, with the ability to partner, collaborate in a highly effective manner with a variety of internal/external customers (internal departments/groups, vendors/contractors, local/state officials, etc.).
  17. Ability to build strong, effective internal/external work relationships.
  18. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  19. Strong conflict management skills with the ability to motivate, persuade and inspire others.
  20. Excellent ability to work in a timely, safe manner while keeping downtime to a minimum.
  21. Able to perform well in a fast-paced, frequently high-pressured environment, where internal/external customer demands are expected and routine.
