Regional Maintenance Manager: Reports to Director of Maintenance
OverviewRegional Maintenance Manager is pivotal in ensuring the safe operation of our trucking fleet. Must have mechanical experience with Class 8 tractors and trailers. The Regional Safety manager oversees diesel mechanics within an assigned region to ensure company equipment (tractor and trailers) operate safely. This position requires a strong knowledge of tractor and trailer repairs and a deep understanding of Preventative Maintenance and DOT requirements.
May work remotely from these other locations: Charleston, Atlanta, Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia*
Qualifications:
- Must have 5 years of mechanical experience with Class 8 tractors and trailers.
- Proven experience in fleet maintenance management within the trucking industry.
- Must have 5 years of transportation industry experience.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, OSHA guidelines, and environmental compliance.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership skills, technical expertise in truck maintenance, and a proactive approach to maintenance planning and execution
- Capability to work under time and quota pressures
- Ability to lead a remote team
- Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Demonstrates commitment and results-orientation, strives to maximize account performance, and achieve growth targets
- Availability to travel up to 50% regionally and/or national as needed
Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement ProceduresCreate and implement maintenance strategies to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our tractors and trailers.
Optimize ProcessesIdentify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization within the maintenance department.
Short and Long-Term Maintenance StrategiesWork closely with the Director and Vice President of Maintenance to implement maintenance strategies aligned with the companys goals.
Team LeadershipLead and manage a team of diesel mechanic technicians, providing guidance and training as needed.
Prioritize Maintenance ActivitiesCoordinate and prioritize maintenance tasks to minimize tractor and trailer downtime and maximize fleet availability.
Inspections and ComplianceEnsure equipment is inspected to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Vendor RelationshipsEstablish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers for necessary parts, supplies, and services.
Maintenance SchedulingDevelop and manage maintenance schedules to optimize truck and equipment lifespan and performance.
Computer Skills: Must be fluent in Microsoft Office/Excel/TMT.
Cost-Effective StrategiesImplement cost-effective maintenance approaches while maintaining high-quality standards. Track fleet performance and maintenance costs.
Regulatory ComplianceEnsure compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies related to maintenance, safety, and environmental protection.
Collaboration: Collaborate with leadership, safety, and operations teams to support overall business objectives and enhance customer satisfaction.
