The Role

Our Banking & Financial Services Consulting Practice is looking for an Assistant Vice President, Consulting with focus on Capital Markets solutions, to join us on our journey to become the preeminent technology services partner to the Global 2000.

Our consultants apply industry-specific domain knowledge and understanding of Cognizant’s horizontal solutions to address client needs and requirements, to advise on and shape client strategies, to deliver optimum solutions that delight clients, and achieve client business goals. We work on some of the most exciting projects in the marketplace across our 7 verticals and 3 horizontals. We are looking for techno-functional consultants with expertise in mission critical Capital Markets front, middle and back-office solutions that can advise clients on how to established and emerging technologies to optimize, modernize and/or transform their ability to grow revenue, increase operational efficiencies, and mitigate financial and non-financial risks.

This position will help us to build our consulting business further with our existing tier one BFS clients, who are already benefitting from several Cognizant Solutions Capital Markets related services and solutions. The leader will also assist in opening out new relationships for capital markets business with new BFS clients.

Responsibilities

· Serve as a Consulting Leader, bringing your areas of domain expertise to Cognizant’s clients, as we engineer modern businesses to improve everyday life

· Own and develop a book of business and actively engage in business development efforts, often owning the consulting quota for accounts, and ensuring profitable growth for the practice and for Cognizant

· Exercise quality assurance for engagements within your remit

· Engage in key account expansion, sales leadership, and internal executive stakeholder partnering based upon an expert understanding of such things as emerging market trends, client business direction, client requirements, evolving regulatory contexts and the feasibility of transformation goals

· Maintain expertise in Capital Markets operations and technology.

· Establish and nurture relationships with client partners and strive to serve as their trusted advisor

· Leverage industry expertise and market sensibilities to propose forward-leaning refinement or extension of Cognizant’s Advisory Capabilities (offerings)

· Support and develop a long-term vision for the practice

· Work with others to standardize consulting tools, methods, curricula, and career development requirements

· Partner with recruitment to attract high caliber consulting talent and the creation of a strong talent pipeline

· Mentor and coach consulting associates; lead people development and community-building activities

· Author thought leadership insights on behalf of the practice and advocates within Cognizant for the recognition of Consulting’s contribution to Cognizant’s profitability and market brand

· Participate in industry panels and forums to promote Cognizant’s capabilities; gather insights on emerging business needs, requirements, technology, and competitive challenges

· Lead in the creation of robust IP repositories and knowledge-sharing strategies to enhance practice effectiveness and cross-practice community building and act as a visible and respected spokesperson for Cognizant’s’ Advisory Practice

Qualifications

· 15 + years of experience in deep domain or cross-sector practice management, including the creation and go-to-market execution of offers related to capital markets solutions

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (engineering or science related degree preferred but not mandatory)

· Earlier experience in implementing and/or running technology-based solutions related to their business domain specialization

· Knowledge of current and anticipated industry developments in capital markets platforms/solutions

· Ability to discuss the domain specific architectural and operational issues associated with integration, deployment, and maintenance of features and capabilities for core functions, including:

o Trading

§ Representative functions: Order management, trade execution, trade compliance and surveillance

§ Representative platforms: Blomberg terminal Thomson Reuters Eikon, Metatrader, Trading Technologies, Interactive Brokers, Linedata

o Risk Management

§ Representative functions: Market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, operational risk, model risk

§ Representative platforms: Murex, Adenza (Calypso + AxiomSL), Risk Metrics

o Market Data Management and Use

§ Representative functions: Sourcing, collection, processing, distribution

§ Representative platforms: Bloomberg, FactSet, S&P Capital IQ

o Decision Support

§ Representative functions: Visualization, pricing, valuation, decision support

§ Representative platforms: Moody’s Analytics, MSCI Barra, RiskVal, Numerix

o Settlement and Clearing

§ Representative functions: Confirmation, matching, allocation, reconciliation, settlement, correspondent clearing

§ Representative platforms: DTCC, Cleastream, Euroclear, FIS, SimCorp, Broadridge

· A background of extensive management consulting leadership as a practice leader, or business or solution developer

· A successful track record of setting and achieving engagement targets, controlling budgets, managing forecasts, and driving an organization of professional consultants in winning business and achieving financial targets

· Possessing a robust network of contacts and presence in professional organizations and industry forums

· International experience supporting or driving global initiatives is a plus

· Experience in building results-oriented, high-performing consulting teams or organizations recognized for excellence
