The Finance Shared Service Center Accounting (FSSC) is accountable for running the Accounts Payable processes and takes care of transactional accounting in the general ledgers for all businesses of NewCold in the Americas. The team lead FSSC based in Chicago is supervised by the Manager FSSC Accounting based in the Netherlands (HQ).

About the vacancy
To support our further worldwide growth, we are looking to recruit a Team Lead to join our team. You will be responsible for coordinating our Financial Accountants (2 FTE) and our Accounts Payable Specialists (3 FTE) based in our Chicago office to ensure we meet the agreed service levels.

Responsibilities

  1. Perform supervisory duties, including but not limited to hiring, training, evaluating, coaching, and disciplining direct reports. Foster a positive and engaged work environment.
  2. Work with other functional areas in NewCold to achieve efficient and effective accounting practices and respond to inquiries from other functional areas.
  3. Implement the designed processes in the Americas regions.
  4. Audit invoices and expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policy.
  5. Coordinate efforts with internal and external auditors regarding the integrity of cash receipt and disbursement controls and perform procedural updates as necessary.
  6. Review, analyze, and reconcile accounts in conjunction with the team.

Required Education and Experience

  1. Min Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent related work experience.
  2. 5-15 years’ experience in accounting/finance.
  3. Min 5+ years of Team Lead or Supervisory experience.

Required Skills and Abilities

  1. Competent knowledge of accounting/finance and general ledger reporting, account reconciliations, month-end close process.
  2. NetSuite ERP experience.
  3. Advanced interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to coordinate, mentor, and develop staff.
  4. Ability to foster a teamwork and service-focused environment.
  5. Ability to be flexible when needed, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability.
  6. Intermediate level of investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  7. Ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously, to appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
  8. Ability to translate business needs and problems into solutions.
