Country Lead, Business Development – USA

- Support the setup process of our US entity, including registration, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Navigate the initial stages of expansion to ensure a smooth transition as we launch Circunomics in the USA.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive go-to-market strategy for Battery Lifecycle Management services in the USA. This includes identifying and targeting new market segments, developing sales and marketing campaigns, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders.
- Oversee and manage a team of sales, customer success, and account management professionals to ensure the delivery of exceptional service to our clients and the achievement of sales targets.
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key players in the battery industry, including manufacturers, recyclers, and other stakeholders, in order to expand the reach and impact of our Battery Lifecycle Management services.
- Collaborate with the product development and engineering teams to ensure the delivery of cutting-edge solutions tailored to the unique needs of the USA market, staying ahead of industry trends and technological advancements.
- Drive the growth and expansion of the circular battery trade by promoting the benefits of our services and demonstrating the value of a circular battery economy.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments, and adapt our strategies and offerings to remain competitive and compliant in the US market.
- Ensure compliance with EU regulations, data security, and privacy policies to maintain the integrity and security of our clients' data.
- Represent Circunomics as the face of the company in the USA by engaging in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to increase brand awareness and demonstrate high leadership qualities.
- Develop and maintain a robust performance measurement system to track and analyze the effectiveness of strategies and ensure continuous improvement.
- Collaborating with Management and Head of Sales to align strategies, share best practices, and ensure a consistent customer experience across all regions.
- Residing in USA (maximum time difference of 4 to 5 hours from the USA East Coast (EST/EDT)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, MBA, sales, or equivalent in experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a leadership role within the battery industry, executing automotive business, selling high-end technology solutions, preferably in a regional or country-level position.
- Proven experience working with automotive and/or battery players: Mobility OEMs, Tier-1s, system integrators, EV players, Energy Storage Companies, Recyclers, or within the Second Life Market of Lithium-Ion Batteries.
- Experience in managing complex projects and achieving ambitious targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage a team effectively.
- Familiarity with EU regulations, data security, and privacy practices.

- Knowledgeable in acquiring and managing key accounts.
- Technical understanding is a plus.

Circunomics, GmbH was founded in 2019 and is in Mainz, Germany. The company is leading the industry by offering a comprehensive battery lifecycle management solution. Co-Founders, Felix Wagner and Jan Born, are dedicated to establishing a true circular battery economy to maximize each stage of battery life. Along with their team, they seek to inspire the movement of batteries from 1st-life within the automotive industry to 2nd-life within the energy sector, and finally, through working with recyclers to close the loop by recovering any remaining raw materials.
Circunomics has developed an AI-powered, B2B marketplace where cells, modules, and packs can be traded. Through the Circunomics Analytics product, sellers and buyers alike can obtain a detailed view of their assets. From current SH to 2nd-life simulation, this product allows for a simpler and more profitable lifecycle management. Circunomics knows that lifecycle planning is complex, and the Battery Matchmakers are on a mission to help ease this process for their customers.
The company has been supported thus far by seed investors and business angels. Startup builder Next Mobility Labs, recycler TES, Orlen VC, and Dr. Peter Mertens (former Chief Technology Officer of Audi) are some of the key players. The Series A funding round is set for completion in Q3/Q4 of 2024.
Though many customers already sit within the US market, Circunomics is set to officially expand operations into the US by the close of 2024.
US-based company Frost & Sullivan awarded Circunomics the 2023 Market Leadership Award. This award identified Circunomics as the Best in Class within the European Circular Marketplace for the Battery Trade Industry.
