Salary: $66,901 - $109,625 Annually

ATTENDANCE REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION ARE AS FOLLOWS:Non rotating work week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with overtime as required to complete tasks.

Facilities and Utilities hiring for one position each; Capital Programs hiring for two positions.

Responsibilities

Position requires the supervision of professional and technical staff; provides implementation and coordination of projects; Management, scoping, negotiation, and administration of consultant contracts; provides support during bidding and construction phases with interpretation of intent of plans and specifications; assists in dispute resolution with contractors, other agencies, or the public; investigates and documents citizen complaints / inquiries concerning major projects and other matters; provides coordination with City departments, contractors, consultants and other agencies; prepare and /or coordinate field changes and change orders; develops plans and budget recommendations related to the Major Projects activity; prepares or supervises preparation of reports, studies, agenda memorandums, construction plans and design documents, request to advertise for bids, preparation, evaluation and award of RFQ/RFP for professional and construction services and other project related documentation; performs engineering studies and makes recommendations for future projects. May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field with five (5) years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in municipal engineering and two (2) years in planning or supervision preferred. A combination of directly related education and/or experience as required may be considered. Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, or a valid Registration as a Professional Engineer in another state, or previous registration in Texas or another state with the ability to obtain State of Texas registration within six (6) months of employment is required. A valid driver's license is required at time of application and hire. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.

Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.
