The Role

The Director, Strategic Planning will work with Strategy and Planning leaders to support planning practices across Brokerage Domains and cross-BU planning efforts. In addition to enterprise coordination, this leader will act as a key partner to Fidelity Brokerage Finance, Communication, HR leadership as well as to group-level planning leads.



The Value You Deliver

  • Work across brokerage leaders and respective strategy and planning leads to identify critical decisions, key dependencies, risks, challenges, and other notable topics to elevate to senior leader forums and accelerate progress and remove roadblocks.
  • Develop and handle both high-level and detailed views of Fidelity Brokerage’s portfolio of products, capabilities, initiatives, resources, and investments; act as connection, in partnership with finance, to enterprise-wide efforts such as the Quarterly Tech Review.
  • Develop and maintain scorecard and ensure alignment to overall goals
  • Coordinate planning efforts partnering with enterprise planning office and BU planning leads
  • Develop and support the multi-year plan process, in partnership with Finance and with strategy leads both within the brokerage business and the enterprise
  • In partnership with HR; connect brokerage-wide priorities with overall resource needs and strategies to address (e.g., hiring, re-allocation).
  • Partner with other BUs on management and collaboration of cross BU work
  • Lead and deliver effective communication of the business plans across the broader organization and with cross BU partners
  • Partner with BU Communications to cascade vision and strategy.
  • Support broader strategy responsibilities of the Strategy and Planning team.
  • Establish and maintain effective communications and relationships across multiple areas.


The Expertise and Skills You Have

  • 5-8\u002B years of proven experience in a strategy and planning or similar role
  • MBA degree or equivalent preferred (or similar experience)
  • Ability to influence all levels of an organization.
  • Organizational proficiency and a proactive, creative, and collaborative approach to solving strategic business issues
  • Develop and maintain strategic business relationships with key business partners
  • Highly organized and with a proven track record to prioritize work.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills: the ability to develop and present information and actively engage an audience.
  • Attention to detail and outstanding organization and coordination skills to ensure goals are achieved.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with proven track record to deliver results through others.
  • Innovative, forward-thinker who quickly understands the context, and effectively challenges the status quo and drive tough decisions
  • Executive communication skills and ability to craft compelling, executive level presentations
