A prime contractor is seeking a Senior Software Architect to lead the design and development of software systems supporting a government customer in Huntsville, Alabama. This role involves delivering automation to key national security missions and handling petabyte-scale data on supercomputing resources.

Key Responsibilities: Design and oversee software architecture, develop and manage containerized applications with Docker, optimize NoSQL and SQL databases, implement workflows with Apache Airflow and Kafka, automate ML model deployment, design scalable microservices architecture, manage APIs for scalability and reliability, use infrastructure as code and configuration management tools, utilize Jira for project management, use GitHub for version control, ensure application performance and quality, provide technical leadership and mentoring, collaborate on software requirements and specifications, conduct code reviews and enforce best practices, and support team development through coaching and feedback.

Requirements:

  • Top Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 7+ years in software development and architecture
  • Proficiency in Python, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with NoSQL, SQL, and Apache Airflow
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated testing
  • Experience in microservices architecture
  • Knowledge of ML deployment and collaboration with data scientists
  • Experience with Jira and Git
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms
