Position Overview

SAIC is seeking a Lead Software Systems Architect to become a vital member of the Army UAS Training Test team.

This role involves collaboration within a diverse team that engages in extensive testing activities, which encompass evaluating both physical and virtual network infrastructures, software solutions, and UAS control systems. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy working on intricate systems, as it requires proficiency across various operating systems (such as Windows and Linux), networking frameworks, and multiple UAS platforms.

Essential Qualifications

Educational Background and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with at least three (3) years of relevant experience. Alternatively, four (4) years of pertinent experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Possession of an active Interim Secret Security Clearance is mandatory; candidates must be eligible to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

Core Competencies:

  • Over five (5) years of expertise in software systems deployment, troubleshooting, software development, or software integration.
  • Experience in providing both field and sustainment level maintenance.
  • Proficient in collaborating closely with software development teams to support Senior Engineers in the design, development, testing, and integration of software systems.
  • Familiarity with software development environments.
  • Proficient in using MS Office applications.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working within an Agile/SCRUM framework.
  • Background in developing, executing, and reviewing automated testing procedures.
  • Experience with operating objective UAS systems (such as Gray Eagle and/or Shadow) and their associated training systems (Embedded Trainer—ET / Universal Mission Simulator—UMS).
  • Familiarity with MS Azure.

Citizenship Requirement:

This position necessitates U.S. citizenship.
