ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the month-end closing of the accounts to prepare the financial statements on a timely basis. Also, the accurate and timely preparation of managerial reports and statements; and preparation of various analyses, statements, and reports as requested.
- Ensure all payroll bank accounts are reconciled monthly. Ensure all sub schedules for receivables and payables balance to the balance sheet accounts; all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and all corrections are posted accurately.
- Ensure that established systems of internal controls are adhered to and work with company and accounting staff to correct where necessary. With the Senior Assistant Director of Finance the Director of Finance and department heads, work to improve systems and internal controls with the goal of ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Assist with the development of new financial reports in Oracle Netsuite ERP.
- Assist with the development of new analysis reports/worksheets for payroll and labor management.
- Assist with the development of critical date list, contract, and capital expenditure schedules
- Liaison with company management and department heads to serve guests and other staff better.
- Through courses, trade publications, and memberships in accounting and hotel organizations, keep up-to-date on all tax, legal, and accounting issues to best serve the company.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with supervision and development of hourly associates in the Accounting department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
