Ms President US is a non-partisan, non-profit, after-school program that motivates and prepares girls to aim for the highest civic leadership positions and know they can achieve them. Through our program, girls in 4th-12th grade learn about public speaking, diplomacy and listening skills, local/state/federal government, and women’s history while having an opportunity to meet and greet exemplary female leaders. The program culminates with a field trip to the CT capitol and then a campaign and election for Ms President US.
Program Manager
Ms President US seeks a Program Manager to update our curriculum and coordinate with chapter leaders to ensure they understand the materials. The Program Manager works closely with the Executive Director and together these two positions constitute the program staff.
Responsibilities of the Program Manager include:
- Program Development (70%): Draft, update and finalize the eight annual sessions (content, PowerPoint slides, and mentor handout), creating new sessions and material as needed to ensure participants receive fresh, accurate, and engaging material annually. The Program Manager provides facilitation support to the chapter leaders in cases where support is required to ensure continuity and quality of program delivery;
- Knowledge Sharing (10%): The Program Manager ensures that the program library is updated and organized and that each session’s content is saved and accessible on the Ms President US shared Google Drive.
- Reporting (10%): Together with the Executive Director and design consultant(s), compile annual report;
- Evaluation (5%): Conduct annual end-of-program evaluations as well as ongoing informal evaluation through feedback from participants, parents, chapter leaders and Board members;
- Additional Duties (5%): as requested by the Executive Director, such as participating in annual strategic planning exercise.
Requirements
The ideal candidate:
● Has experience training and facilitating youth educational programming in the target age group, with a special emphasis on 4th/5th grade;
● Demonstrates a strong understanding of non-partisanship, as well as interest in women’s empowerment, politics, and leadership;
● Is an independent self-starter;
● Possesses excellent communications and organizational skills;
● Is located in or near Fairfield County in CT to be able to attend and support the facilitation of programs at our chapter locations;
● Is a team player, able and willing to work flexibly and cooperatively with other staff, consultants, and volunteers.

Dates and compensation
We are ready to bring on our new Program Manager. This part-time role typically requires 10-15 hours per week. Work hours are flexible, however, as part of a collaborative team, certain dates and times may be required, such as supporting the facilitation of particular sessions, field trips, and elections. As the program grows, this role can grow, too. Compensation: the part-time Program Manager receives $30/hour.
