Position Summary:

As a key member of the Sales team, the Technical Sales Representative will assist with the selling of complex, scientific and technical products/services. The Technical Sales Representative will serve as a subject matter expert in maintaining extensive knowledge of the products’ parts, functions, and processes and support the close of Sales by providing product/technical information in addressing customers’ pain points/needs. This position has flexibility of being hybrid in Michigan and/or based at our Canton office.  


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and develop technical presentations that describe our products/services to customers
  • Explain equipment needs and system requirements with customers and engineers
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to understand customer pain points/needs and provide technical sales support
  • Generate high-quality sales leads, following up after initial contact, securing and renewing orders, negotiating prices, completing sales, and arranging deliveries
  • Consult the Sales team for a fresh perspective on business’ message and value proposition for proposals
  • Research, develop and modify products to meet customers' technical requirements and needs
  • Support customers who have problems with installed products and recommend improved or upgraded materials and machinery
  • Solicit and track client feedback and evaluate the data to create new sales and marketing strategies to target customers
  • Identify areas for improvement and communicate issues as well as possible solutions to management
  • Set and achieve Sales goals and quotas
  • Train other members of the Sales team on the technical aspects of product/service offerings


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in Material Handling and Storage Equipment
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant Sales experience in Account Management, Technical Sales, Inside Sales, or a Sales Support role
  • Strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex and technical information/concepts to non-technical customers and prospective leads
  • Strong desire to assist and provide a high level of service/support to Sales team and customers
  • Possesses strong written & verbal communications with all levels of management, and organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and project management skills
  • Strong ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external stakeholders (customers and vendors) along with the ability to work collaboratively in team-oriented environment to deliver on Sales goals
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support Sales
