Heritage Technology Partners is backed by Heritage Holding, a private equity fund founded in 2015 and based in Boston, MA. The firm is focused on building growing platforms through ambitious operational initiatives and bolt-on acquisitions, and this role will work closely with the Heritage team. Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and cost analysis, to provide insights into financial performance.
- General Ledger Management: Oversee bookkeeping functions, ensuring adherence to GAAP principles, and accurate classification of expenditures.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage the cash flows at each of our companies to ensure optimal liquidity.
- Budgeting: Create, develop, and maintain budgets to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Budget Tracking: Track actual results against budgets, providing detailed variance analysis and reports.
- Audit Coordination: Act as the point of contact with auditors and assist in the coordination of financial audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with government reporting and financial regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities and lead projects for process improvement and automation within the finance department to increase efficiency and accuracy, including managing AP, issuing POs, and getting approval for those POs.
- Cost Saving: Find and evaluate ways to save on costs across the organization.
- Consolidated Financials: Compile consolidated financial statements and provide these to our lender, acting as the point of contact for any questions from the lender.
- Financial Reporting: Report on variances to budget and prior months, providing insights and recommendations.
- Financial Policies: Create financial policies for acceptable travel, meals, and other expenditures for Heritage Technology Partners employees to follow.
- Payroll: Oversee the payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Monthly Close: Oversee the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects and initiatives as needed, providing financial expertise and analysis.
- ERP Reporting: Input financial information into ERP for reporting, invoicing, and auditing
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial analysis
- 5+ years of experience in a related field
- CPA and/or MBA a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and QuickBooks
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Desire to grow and scale a finance team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
