Duties, including but not limited to:

  • Supporting attorneys with trial preparation including pleadings notebooks, indexes, and exhibits
  • Filing in State and Federal Courts
  • Drafting, proofreading, editing and formatting legal documents and correspondence such as shell pleading and discovery documents
  • Maintain control files of matters in progress and follows up to ensure that court ordered actions are competed
  • Periodically request pre-bills and statements for billing purposes and prepare statements for signatures and send out
  • Calendaring deadlines, schedules and attorney travel
  • Prepare and send faxes, documents, mail, certified mail, overnight mail, FedEx packages and interoffice mail
  • Mastering of assigned tasks such as correspondence, spreadsheets, minutes, reports, and other documents


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of litigation experience at a law firm
  • Defense and/or appellate experience preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Experience working with various practice and case management databases and timekeeping and billing systems
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
