Senior Product Manager - Pricing


The Product Manager will lead pricing initiatives for various loan products, including real estate, auto, and personal loans. This role requires balancing established infrastructure (database views, dashboards, pricing and data models, reports, and analytics) with the need to develop new support systems in collaboration with database engineering teams.


The Product Manager will engage in pricing discussions with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership, and must critically assess pricing strategies, identify opportunities, and execute initiatives. This role involves deep data analysis to inform pricing decisions based on trends, competitor pricing, economic scenarios, and consumer behavior.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Pricing Strategy Development: Conduct pricing conversations with stakeholders, identify opportunities, and execute initiatives to optimize loan product pricing.
  • Data Analysis: Perform comprehensive data analysis to identify trends, competitor pricing, economic scenarios, and consumer behavior.
  • Infrastructure Collaboration: Work with database engineering teams to develop necessary support infrastructure for less developed products.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with various stakeholders, from front-line staff to executives, to gather feedback and inform pricing decisions.
  • Reporting and Presentation: Conduct analysis and reporting to present findings to executives and key stakeholders, facilitating data-driven decision-making.
  • Technical Proficiency: Utilize SQL for data extraction and analysis, and tools like Tableau or PowerBI for data visualization and reporting.


Technical Skills:

  • SQL: For querying databases and extracting data.
  • Dashboarding/Reporting: Experience with Tableau or PowerBI for creating visualizations and reports.


Key Attributes:

  • Critical Thinking: Ability to assess and develop pricing strategies and initiatives.
  • Storytelling: Articulate findings and tell the story behind the data to inform and influence decision-making.
  • Collaboration: Work effectively with database engineering teams and various stakeholders.
  • Market Awareness: Understand market dynamics, competitor analysis, economic factors, and supply and demand considerations.


Required Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in the pricing domain.
  • Proven experience in pricing products, ideally loans or financial products, with a critical thinking approach.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization, with experience in basic SQL or Python.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate findings and engage with senior leadership.


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with loan products or within financial institutions.
  • Background in Economics or Statistics.
  • Advanced skills in SQL, Python, or R.
