Position Overview 

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Health and Community Development Proposal Specialist to contribute to join our growing team at Initium Health. In this role, you will play a key part in developing comprehensive and compelling proposals across a range of health initiatives, including public health, mental health, behavioral health, and community development. Your work will support impactful projects such as feasibility studies, community health assessments, strategic planning, and public awareness media campaigns. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and write high-quality proposals (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs) and grant applications with a focus on public health, mental health, behavioral health, and community health projects, including feasibility studies, data dashboards, health assessments, strategic planning, and public awareness media campaigns.
  • Leverage experience in public health, mental health, and community engagement to write informed and impactful proposals tailored to the specifications of clients and funding agencies.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to incorporate background knowledge in health education, media campaigns, feasibility studies, and community outreach strategies into targeted proposals.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support proposal sections on community health assessments, behavioral health initiatives, strategic health planning, and feasibility studies.
  • Customize past performance sections, resumes, and case studies to reflect specific experience in health services, community engagement, media campaigns, and strategic health initiatives.
  • Analyze RFP and grant requirements to ensure compliance with all stipulations.
  • Manage the proposal submission process from conception to deliver, including drafting, editing, proofreading, and finalizing documents. 
  • Lead the proposal writing process from initial concept through final submission.
  • Monitor and respond to feedback on submitted proposals, using insights from previous work to refine and improve future submissions in health, mental health, and public awareness initiatives.


Educational Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required, preferably in Public Health, Health Policy, Social Work, Community Health, or a related field; Masters degree preferred


Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in proposal writing, program planning, or business development within public health, mental health, behavioral health, or related fields, with proven experience in health assessments, feasibility studies, or media campaigns.
  • Excellent research, writing, and editing skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively. 
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and Project Management Software.
