Role is 100% onsite at China Lake Naval Base near Ridgecrest, California. Ongoing contract position with potential for conversion.


The primary location for this position will be at the China Lake Naval Weapons base in the Ridgecrest, CA area. The successful Junior-Level Versatile Technologist will team with program engineering and flight test personnel to provide Navy Marine Corp Intranet (NMCI), Research, Development, Testing & Evaluation (RDT&E) for Boeing’s China Lake Naval Weapons flight test site. Specific requirements will include hardware and software integration, desktop and server administration, networking, and information security across multiple operating platforms and environments.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with key Boeing and Navy IT personnel for problem resolutions and impact analysis
  • Provide technical interface and collaboration with the US Navy Marine Corps Internet (NMCI), Contract Technical Representative (CTR), and Research, Development, and Testing & Evaluation (RDT&E) Network personnel.
  • Provide information technology project management.
  • Analyze computing requirements
  • Plan, design, install, and maintain multi-platform information technology infrastructure systems that to meet Boeing program requirements
  • Perform complex system problem identification and restoration
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly, maintenance of servers and desktop workstations
  • Support the evaluation and certification of computing systems to ensure reliability, integrity, and compliance with architectural standards and processes
  • Protect classified and proprietary information
  • Maintain compliance with various government and corporate security plans including conformance with Risk Management Framework objectives utilizing Boeing approved operational security (OPSEC) processes
  • Support audits or investigations and deploy necessary corrective actions in a timely manner
  • Support classification and declassification of program hardware utilizing established IT processes
  • Provide 2nd and 3rd tier technical support for network installs/testing, repair issues, and assist in fail-over and disaster recovery process and other technical support activities

Basic Qualifications:

  • This position requires an active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)
  • Information Technology system administration experience supporting Windows and/or Linux workstation and servers.
  • Experience supporting or participating on cross-functional teams.
  • Current IAT Level 2 DoD 8140 (previously 8570) Security+ compliant certification. Maintenance of this certification is required.
