Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Senior Vice President of Finance who will serve as a key resource and strategic business partner to leadership across DHR Health on matters related to finance, strategic decision-making, and the development of programs, processes, and infrastructure to enhance system performance.


The primary function of this role is to deliver mission-critical financial leadership and decision-support oversight across the entire enterprise, supporting the delivery of healthcare to the people of the Rio Grande Valley and the continued growth and expansion of the DHR Health System.


Reporting to and collaborating closely with the Chief Financial Officer and others within the finance team, the Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis will be called upon as a subject matter expert on foundational decision support and analytics, which are key drivers of DHR Health’s strategic growth initiatives and overall financial success.



Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field required.

Master's degree in business or accounting highly preferred.

Seven to ten years of career experience progressively in healthcare delivery-specific financial operations, planning, and analysis.

Two to four years at a vice president or system-wide director level in a healthcare system with a minimum of $500,000 inpatient revenue, preferably in independent or regional health systems.

Demonstrated full responsibility for the entire financial planning process across acute and ambulatory healthcare environments.

Demonstrated experience in the development and oversight of cost accounting systems.

Experience working with lean and continuous improvement concepts, project management, development, and implementation.

Strong working knowledge of hospital, outpatient, and ambulatory operations and workflow.

Strong working knowledge and competency working with ERP systems and other data platforms.

Ability to communicate financial metrics and information to all levels of leadership and staff in a way that is easy to understand and grasp.

Skilled and proficient in building and using complicated data sources, financial modeling, and multi-year projections.

Strong problem-solving, creativity, and ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis.

Excellent communication and presentation skills are required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence all levels (including senior-level executives) are also needed.

Preferred experience with alternative revenue models for healthcare providers, including capitation and risk-based revenue and gain-sharing models.

Broad experience with various healthcare businesses in a multi-unit, diversified organization with complex reimbursement and funds flow models is strongly preferred.
