Job Summary
The Senior Internal Auditor is seen as an advisor to the business and leads in the execution of financial, operational, risk-based, corporate governance, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audits for our client's domestic and international operations. Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager, the Senior Internal Auditor is responsible for the indirect supervision of Internal Auditor Staff and Interns.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Plan, lead, and execute financial, operational and compliance/ governance internal audit projects and communicate value-driven recommendations to business leaders
• Innovate and leverage well-rounded business acumen to assess emerging risk areas across Zebra’s global operations and advise on leading industry practices and process maturity
• Partner with the Internal Audit Analytics Advisor in the department’s development of leading-class continuous auditing techniques and data analytics
• Lead or assist in the execution of US Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) legislation compliance auditing, while advising business leaders on optimal control structure
• Engage in ERM activities to evaluate the top strategic, operational, reporting, and compliance risks and consult with management on progress towards addressing these risks.
• Partner with Internal Audit leaders to continuously mature the Internal Audit department
Job Requirements
• Minimum Education:
o Bachelor's degree in a business-related major (i.e., Finance/Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, Management Information Systems, etc.)
• Minimum Work Experience (years):
o 5+ years of relevant work experience (i.e., auditing, consulting, finance/operations, IT/security), including at least two years of experience with auditing
• Key Skills and Competencies:
o Command over core business processes (i.e., Accounting, Financial Reporting, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Inventory Management, Sales, Accounts Receivable & Credit, Fixed Assets, Payroll, etc.)
o Strong verbal and written communication skills; Able to communicate and influence at various levels
o Basic knowledge of IT and security technologies
o Experience with project management, managing competing priorities and managing to tight timelines.
o Strong judgment and commitment to driving results.
Strong creative and entrepreneurial spirit; Capable of critical thinking and solving problems.
o Works effectively in an agile and team-based setting, focused on motivating and teaching staff, and engaging in diverse thought.
• Licenses/Certifications, special qualifications:
o Certifications in relevant areas (i.e., CIA, CISA or other certification) or advanced degree preferred
o Knowledge of IIA methodology and standards preferred
• Equivalencies:
o Candidates with a background in public accounting or consulting may be considered with 3 + years of experience in that background
