About the Role:

As TotalBoat’s Global Sourcing Manager, you'll be at the forefront of securing high quality, reliable domestic and international suppliers for essential materials for epoxy, paint, and adhesives. This dynamic role demands a savvy negotiator who can expertly navigate contracts, keep the supply chain humming smoothly, and swiftly tackle any disruptions that come our way. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams, ensuring that every material meets the highest standards of quality and driving the company forward with precision and speed.


What You’ll Do:

  • Manage the supply base for the TotalBoat line with an emphasis on epoxies, paints, and adhesives.
  • Develop relationships with robust supplier pools and selected preferred vendors that are capable of delivering to needs, with focus on diverse supply sources.
  • Manage the end-to-end process from supplier identification through RFQs, qualification, and pricing and contract negotiation.
  • Leverage demand forecasts to ensure TotalBoat’s supply base has ample capacity and quality yield to enable aggressive ramp up of production during peak seasons.
  • Provide guidance to internal procurement staff and chemists on potential supply chain disruptions as well as opportunities for cost reduction strategies.
  • Conduct comprehensive supplier analysis to inform decisions, select an optimal sourcing plan.
  • Work with suppliers on price trends, market and industry position, and risk assessments, and deliver those analyses to the executive leadership team.
  • Visit suppliers’ facilities and accurately assess technical capability, equipment, and capacity of new product development and long-term production to implement a successful E2E product life cycle management strategy and process.
  • Elevate and resolve delivery disruptions. Provide sourcing solutions for any product or material shortages or delays.
  • Monitor and manage costs to ensure adherence to forecasts.
  • Drive suppliers’ continuous process improvement to enhance efficiency and implement cost-saving programs with suppliers.
  • Administer contracts and independently negotiate with supplier's contract terminology, pricing, technical requirements, scope and terms involving responsibility, liability, indemnification, and intellectual property.
  • Evaluate product samples and prototypes, various stages of packaging and artwork, and feedback from marketers and management, and provide constructive information back to vendors, creative and content providers.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between vendors and the in-house product development and quality assurance teams.
  • May supervise and mentor multiple employees and perform performance appraisals.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures, health and safety guidelines, company policies, and government regulations.


What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, business administration, supply chain management, purchasing, procurement/acquisitions, contract management, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing and one or more of the following: chemistry, purchasing, contract negotiation, material or production planning, operations or supply chain management, material cost control, production scheduling.
  • Experience in sourcing from a global supply base required.
  • Experience in sourcing consumer packaged goods strongly preferred.
  • Experience in identifying and executing an optimized chemical supply chain, including raw material, material processing, inspection and logistics preferred.
  • Experience sourcing raw materials for epoxy, paint, or adhesives is a bonus.
  • A keen eye for domestic and international economic and geo-political conditions and consumer market/sales/trends.
  • 1-2 years of management or people leadership experience and cross-functional team management skills preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation & organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills to make timely & accurate decisions.
  • Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment.
  • Global cultural competence: The ability to understand and appreciate diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and ways of thinking.

  • Ability to travel and communicate outside of standard office hours
  • A valid U.S. passport
  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
