Public Relations Assistant

This is a remote position.

The Public Relations Assistant supports the public relations team in implementing communication strategies coordinating media relations and managing various administrative tasks. This role involves assisting with drafting press materials organizing events and maintaining a positive public image for the organization. The position requires strong organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to work in a fastpaced environment with minimal supervision.

  • Assist in the development and distribution of press releases media kits and other communication materials ensuring consistency and alignment with brand messaging.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision to manage media lists track press coverage and maintain uptodate records of media contacts.
  • Coordinate logistics for press events media briefings and other public relations activities ensuring all details are handled efficiently.
  • Monitor media coverage and compile daily press clippings summarizing key insights and trends to share with the team.
  • Collaborate with the public relations team to brainstorm and develop creative ideas for campaigns events and other PR initiatives.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation including status reports media coverage reports and postevent analyses.
  • Support the management of social media accounts by scheduling posts monitoring engagement and assisting in content creation to enhance brand visibility.
  • Engage with journalists influencers and other media contacts responding to inquiries and facilitating interviews or other media opportunities.
  • Assist in the research and identification of media opportunities including speaking engagements awards and sponsorships to promote the organization s public profile.
  • Stay updated with the latest PR trends media landscape and industry best practices; participate in training sessions as needed to enhance skills.
  • Provide input on improving PR processes tools and methodologies to increase efficiency and effectiveness in media relations.
  • Support the creation of presentations pitch materials and other collateral for internal and external audiences.
  • Engage in continuous improvement activities including monitoring competitor PR activities and suggesting new tactics to enhance visibility.
  • Ensure all public relations activities comply with organizational standards and ethical guidelines maintaining a positive and professional image.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams including marketing events and design to align PR efforts with broader organizational goals.
  • Assist with administrative tasks including managing the PR calendar coordinating meetings and handling correspondence with media contacts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
