Job Summary:

The HR Payroll Specialist is responsible for managing and processing the company’s payroll operations, ensuring timely and accurate payroll transactions, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. This role works closely with HR and finance teams to support payroll administration and resolve payroll-related issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing: Manage the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees.
  • Compliance: Ensure payroll practices comply with all relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Deductions & Benefits: Process employee benefits, deductions, and wage garnishments, including 401(k), health insurance, and taxes.
  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain payroll-related reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll statements.
  • Data Management: Maintain and update payroll information for new hires, terminations, and salary changes in the system.
  • Audit & Reconciliation: Regularly audit payroll data for accuracy and ensure proper reconciliation of payroll accounts.
  • Employee Support: Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing timely and professional responses.
  • Timekeeping: Ensure the proper collection and approval of timecards and timesheets for hourly employees.
  • Tax Filing: Assist with payroll tax filings and year-end tax documents, including W-2 and 1099 forms.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to streamline payroll operations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in payroll administration or a related role.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in payroll software (Paylocity)
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
