About The Opportunity


This is a full-time position and an exciting opportunity to be a part of an early-stage company and make a broad impact on corporate operations and research program management. The initial primary focus areas for the role will be establishing and driving research program management processes, management of contracts, and supporting activities relating to corporate communications/strategy/business development. This is an opportunity to contribute, learn and grow.


This position will report to the VP of Corporate Development and Operations. The level of the position will be commensurate with the candidate’s education and industry experience.


Key Responsibilities:


Research Program Management (50% of time)

  • Provide up to date information to members of the Research Leadership Team.
  • Manage, optimize, track and coordinate multiple workstreams across preclinical research, development and operations to ensure key objectives are met
  • Optimize data and program management tools, processes and capabilities
  • Build relationships and work closely with key stakeholders (Program Team Leaders, Functional Leads, external vendors and partners) to ensure alignment and drive execution of functional and program objectives, identify critical path activities, resource constraints, risks and conflicts that could impact timelines and costs
  • Develop the research program management tools and guidelines to ensure consistency across programs.
  • Maintain a current overview of program status, and clearly and pro-actively communicate progress, identify and highlight possible deviations from timelines and budget.
  • Prepare presentation materials and participate in team discussions.

Contracts Management (20% of time)

  • Manage the contract review process and contract tracking.
  • Partner closely with contract owners, finance and outstourced legal partners.
  • For more complex contracts, ensure appropriate stakeholders have been consulted and contract terms are clarified or negotiated by the VP, Corporate Development and Operations, as needed.

Corporate Support 30% of time)

  • Review scientific conference materials and summarize key takeaways.
  • Partner with scientific leaders on conference coverage and Crossbow presence.
  • Support business development activities; manage the data room and ensure information is up to date.
  • Manage corporate communications workstreams, such as press release review, social media campaigns, and website updates.
  • Participate in other corporate activities, as needed.


Preferred qualifications and past experience:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent required, graduate level degree preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with drug discovery and preclinical development preferred
  • Minimum of 5-years of experience in life sciences and/or consulting firm
  • Scientific background preferred
  • Experience in Program Management or related function, across various stages of drug development, with proven track record of success managing multiple projects/priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact with diverse stakeholders (internal and external), and ability to multi-task, manage priorities, focus, negotiate, influence and resolve conflict
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to efficiently, productively and pro-actively, both orally and in writing
  • Prior experience managing and working with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
  • Must be adept at handling ambiguity, and work well in a fast-paced environment
  • Motivated, energetic, highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible, self-starter, collaborative
