Associate Director, Business Support Manager

The Associate Director, Business Support Manager is a key role in providing broad management support to the Research Oncology organization and the Bayer Research Innovation Center (BRIC) in Cambridge, MA. This role is critical in anticipating future needs and identifying gaps, and then creating and implementing solutions effectively across the research organization. You will work closely with the Head of Research Oncology and the Research Portfolio Leads, as well as BRIC site operations, reporting to the Head of Research Oncology.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Associate Director, Business Support Manager, are to:

  • Provide broad management support for the Head of Research Oncology, BRIC and the Leadership group;
  • Identify and drive implementation of strategic initiatives and projects based on strategic priority;
  • Design and facilitate research leadership meetings to ensure appropriate focus on critical operational topics (DSO, finance, people communication etc.), ensuring appropriate documentation and communication as well as follow through of actions;
  • Supports and works in unison with BRIC operations, for internal events and external stakeholder visits;
  • Supports critical internal communication strategy and implementation;
  • Owns and drives the long-term, mid-term and 90-day outcomes across research as well as monitoring progress and providing interventions to ensure timely progress;
  • Supports pipeline and portfolio activities and committees as needed (i.e., ROC etc);
  • Develops executive presentations for Pharmaceutical Leadership Team, R&D Leadership Team and external events as needed, to ensure appropriate positioning of Research Oncology;
  • Pioneers and champions new way of working and DSO principles, embedding these across research Oncology.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree;
  • Outstanding operational management skills, to include internal consulting, project management and leadership, and highly effective teamwork and collaboration skills;
  • Demonstrated experience leading large scale projects/programs in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or related industry;
  • Strong verbal and written communication & presentation skills;
  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex topics to the organization and senior management;
  • Strength in trouble shooting, problem solving & high degree of proactivity;

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience
