The Opportunity
Enroot seeks a Cambridge Program Manager to provide academic enrichment support to students in our program at Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School. Reporting to the Cambridge Program Director, the Manager will co-create and support the mentoring night curriculum, set up field trips to local businesses and offices, organize speaker panels, co-lead weekly discussions about leadership skills, and oversee student case management. The Manager will build close relationships with school officials and volunteers as they build a network of support for students. This role presents an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional to join a team that’s passionate about helping immigrant students realize their full potential.
Enroot is currently operating on a hybrid work schedule; Tuesdays - Thursdays are in-person and every other Monday is in-person for our Monday team meetings. This position requires the candidate to be operating in person primarily at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School (459 Broadway, Cambridge) which includes one evening of programming per week, and at the Enroot office (99 Bishop Allen Drive, Cambridge, MA).
The Cambridge Program Manager is responsible for:
- Co-lead, with the Cambridge Program Director, the recruitment and onboarding of 90-100 Cambridge Rindge and Latin students.
- Co-lead, with the Program Director, the onboarding of 50-70 volunteers who will serve as mentors to our students working closely with Enroot’s Volunteer and Community Engagement Director.
- Manage a caseload of students, providing socio-emotional support. The Manager will take the lead on managing and ensuring team alignment of student case management.
- Lead the planning and execution of bi-monthly leadership seminars and panels for students.
- Manage weekly community space at CRLS , facilitating opportunities for student collaboration and engagement.
- Onboard and train a Mass Promise Fellow (MPF) who comes into the Cambridge site in late summer as a Cambridge Program Associate through the academic year with support from the Cambridge Program Director and Senior Director of Program.
- Support the Cambridge MPF with Enroot’s mentoring program for students including supervision on mentoring nights and ongoing mentor support. The Manager will provide logistics support for mentoring nights and help the MPF as needed with curriculum development and facilitation of mentoring nights.
- Support the MPF with logistics of monthly field trips for students to local companies/organizations and universities. The Manager will also support the Program Director with monthly Lunch & Learn events.
- Support the Program Director as needed with attending community meetings and building relationships with community partners in Cambridge.
- Maintain a CRM database (Salesforce) by tracking attendance, updating notes, creating events and following processes that maintain data integrity.
- Supervise 2-3 Enroot students to become Cambridge program interns, who provide support during mentoring nights and field trips.
- Collaborate with Enroot’s program team to align curriculum, communicate with students, connect with local organizations, and track certain pieces of program expenses and budget.
- Work closely with Enroot’s Pathways to Success Associate in supporting Enroot students’ post-graduation plans, including collaborating on senior and junior check-ins and co-leading events such as Career Fair, Opportunity, and Career Panels.
- Oversee social media updates from Enroot’s Cambridge program on Enroot’s Instagram and Facebook pages.
Your Skills, Experience and Expertise
Required:
- You are able to build strong trusting relationships with young people, volunteer mentors, and other community partners.
- You come to this role with a strong passion for Enroot’s programming and personal or professional connections to supporting immigrant communities, English Learners, and/or education.
- You bring a deep, demonstrated commitment to advancing Diversity, Belonging, Inclusion, and Equity in your workplace and community.
- You have at least 3 years of professional experience in youth development, higher education, non-profits, or student support.
- You demonstrate working knowledge of youth development, coaching, and mentoring.
- You have a strong ability to remain organized while juggling multiple workflows and logistics.
- You have excellent written and oral communication skills and are a comfortable public speaker and facilitator.
- You hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- You are able to work evening hours once a week, are able to attend afternoon field trips, are available for 1 on 1 coaching, and other student-facing events.
- You have strong technology and computer skills and a natural curiosity to learn.
- You are able to work a hybrid schedule, including being in person at least 3 times a week in Cambridge Rindge and Latin School and attending all team meetings twice monthly at Enroot’s Headquarters in Cambridge.
Preferred:
- You are able to speak Haitian Creole, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, or Hindi.
- You have experience working directly with high school students.
- You have familiarity with Cambridge, Somerville , and/or the Greater Boston community or other similar immigrant communities.
Compensation
Enroot offers competitive salaries among nonprofits of a similar size and is committed to pay equity and transparency. The salary for this position is $70,000 per year; Enroot sets competitive salaries and does not negotiate.
Enroot also offers a comprehensive benefits package and generous paid time off policy, including 15 paid vacation days (20 after the first 3 years), 10 holidays, 4 personal days, and 15 sick days. We offer one-day a month org-wide mental health day and year round half day Fridays. Our office is also closed for a week in December. Additionally, Enroot covers 100% of individual health insurance premiums and offers additional health reimbursement arrangements.
