OVERVIEW
he Division of DFP believes in community, equity, inclusion, creativity and innovation. We are passionate, dedicated and inspired by what we do. We treat each other with honesty and respect and work to build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with our federal, state and local partners.
Child Fatality Review (CFR) is a process that works to understand child deaths in order to prevent harm to other children. Local CFR teams are required by IC 16-49 in all Indiana Counties and the Division of DFP supports the teams through coordination; working with community leaders to maintain and enhance their review teams, developing partnerships with child health and safety organizations; and implementation of CFR team recommendations in order to prevent child mortality and morbidity.
The SCFRC will serve as one of three program liaisons--Northern, Central and Southern-- for the Division of Family Health Data and Fatality Prevention (DFP); and Indiana community stakeholders. The SCFRC will work in Southern Indiana, to assist with monitoring the progress of the IDOH’s priorities and DFP’s objectives, and assist with the creation and maintenance of CFR infrastructure. This will include technical support of local CFR teams, building networks of DFP partnerships and with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs. The SCFRC will assist local CFR teams and community partners to promote prevention messaging and practice throughout Indiana.
