We are seeking an experienced Communications/Low-Voltage Foreman in the Wayland,MI area. This position will install, change, or make repairs to communications systems, assist in the training of apprentices, and perform other tasks and duties as required.

Education, Training & Experience

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
  • Required: A minimum of four years of experience in Communications, Service or Construction. Industry certifications required.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Note differences in wire and cable colors so that work can be performed correctly.
  • Provide customers with prompt and professional service.
  • Assemble, install, test, and maintain communications cabling and wiring using hand tools and power tools.
  • Test circuits and components of malfunctioning communications equipment to isolate sources of malfunctions, using test meters, circuit diagrams, polarity probes, and other hand tools.
  • Test repaired, new installed, or updated equipment to ensure that it functions properly and confirms to specifications.
  • Demonstrate equipment to customers and explain how it is to be used, and respond to any inquiries or complaints.
  • Be on call as required by our customers.
  • Perform all work in accordance with Windemuller Values and Mission Statement.
  • Submit complete work orders with proper information to the office each day, but not less than once a week.
  • Turn in all packing slips, time cards, and receipts to the office each day, but not less than once a week.
  • Maintain proper inventory on service truck and keep organized.
  • Operate and maintain company truck and tooling professionally.
  • Coordinate and schedule work with the Account or Project Manager requiring tasks.
  • Coordinate materials, manpower and equipment requirements.
  • Maintain safe working conditions and enforcement of safety regulations for employees working with you.
  • Purchase materials and equipment to perform his/her duties.
  • Contact customers for needed clarification and coordination of requirements.
  • Plan and execute tasks that are presented to him/her.
  • Provide relevant feedback on fellow employees for purposes of performance evaluations.

  • Must be able to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time, have full range of body motion to bend, move, twist, walk, climb, and reach overhead.

  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
  • The position will require work both in the office and at customer jobsites.
