AMI Expeditionary Healthcare is looking for several highly skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurses, ED RN’s. AMI provides Emergency Department and Management Services for two (2) Indian Health Services, IHS, locations in both Rosebud and Pine Ridge South Dakota. The Emergency Departments require 24-hour coverage, 7 days a week, including holidays.
We are seeking highly skilled ED RNs to provide ED services on site to all patients presenting for care in the Emergency Department or elsewhere on the hospital campus with an emergency medical condition. The ED RN shall excel in providing quality patient care services for medical emergency situations and circumstances. ED RN’s will act as observers for patients in the ED and during off-campus transport of patients requiring mental health or other services.
The ED RN’s shall ensure that all health care services provided are in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and agency specific regulations, directives, and policies, and facility-specific policies, procedures, and job descriptions. The EDRN’s shall give the highest regard for patient dignity and observe the precepts of the American Hospital Association’s Bill of Rights for Patients.
Job Summary - In this role you will be expected to:
- Triage incoming patients based on level of injury or illness
- Immediately stabilize incoming patients
- Administer medication as instructed by physicians
- Start intravenous lines, and set broken bones
- Perform tracheotomies and intubations
- Give patients stitches and sutures
- Create and maintain incoming patient records
- Work with team of emergency staff to help patients
- Help transfer stable patients to other wings
Education & Experience - Our ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
- A minimum of two years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in an ER setting
- Active and Unrestricted Registered Nursing License from ANY State
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Ability to effectively communicate and work with a team
- Ability to effectively communicate and aid patients receiving care
- Experience working with a Native American patient population
