Overview:

Join a dynamic and passionate team of specialists dedicated to developing state-of-the-art manufacturing processes for sophisticated space propulsion systems. Based in Huntsville, AL—known as the "Rocket City"—you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of space exploration.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage manufacturing-related projects.
  • Provide production support, including scheduling, theory of constraints, budgeting & forecasting, crew empowerment, defect analysis, core competency definition, make/buy evaluations, and benchmarking analysis.
  • Identify and prioritize process improvement projects utilizing lean manufacturing, engineering economic analysis, process mapping, root cause analysis, statistical methods, Six Sigma, and time studies.
  • Lead operations improvement initiatives, focusing on ergonomics, human factors, operations plans, recovery planning, capacity planning, and capital planning.
  • Facilitate system integration through Value Stream Analysis, Facility Layouts, Production Systems Design, Manufacturing Process Design, Systems Thinking, Facilities Planning, and Requirements analysis.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Operations Research, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working directly in a manufacturing production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability in manufacturing and/or facilities planning.
  • Expertise in factory flow, process modeling, and simulations.
  • Proven experience in leading continuous improvement and value stream mapping events.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data mining.
  • Exceptional Excel skills and capability in manual data analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degrees in Operations Management, Construction Management, MSE, and/or MBA.
  • Experience in rocket engine manufacturing.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP).
  • Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
  • Experience transitioning development to production.
  • Manned space flight production experience.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.
  • Experience with manufacturing organizations and/or supply chain.
  • Hands-on experience with materials and manufacturing processes.
