Strategic Program Manager

Summary: The Sr. Manager is responsible for the development, delivery, and management of Strategic Solutions and supporting programs within defined business segments. This role involves full ownership of solution offerings, from inception to end of life, with significant interaction with sales, partners, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams. Projects managed are typically high in complexity, risk, and visibility, often involving emerging or highly customized technologies. The Sr. Manager will lead mixed teams across multiple practice/solution areas and oversee complex systems integration, including coordination with service areas and third-party vendors. This role requires strong leadership to ensure project success by driving results, making critical decisions, and building robust stakeholder relationships.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Lead efforts to continuously define, contribute to, and improve the overall solution management knowledge base.
- Develop standards, best practices, and training for team members.
- Establish and own the program communication plan for all stakeholders and work streams.
- Lead and coordinate cross-team communication, distill information, and present it appropriately to stakeholders.
- Adapt communication style and medium to meet the needs of various audiences, including executive-level stakeholders.
- Define strategy and content for formal presentations, creating talking points and strategic messaging.
- Review and evaluate solution ideas, prioritizing based on effort, impact, and alignment with company objectives.
- Understand the technology landscape, customer needs, and market trends to determine fit and scalability of solutions.
- Influence and make program recommendations at the executive level, managing program changes to minimize impact and risk.
- Determine the customer journey and supporting internal processes, identifying and prioritizing needs by department.
- Manage a core team of non-direct reports across multiple disciplines, ensuring project completion on time and within scope.
- Accountable for Strategic Solution financials, tracking budgets, costs, revenue, and margins, and making necessary adjustments.
- Forecast sales volumes, manage solution goals, and proactively adjust strategies to drive revenue and profitability.
- Lead the build of new solutions, managing timelines, resources, workflow, and all dependencies from program work streams.
- Oversee implementation of go-to-market strategies, optimizing sales enablement and marketing approaches.
- Act as subject matter expert, promoting the value of the solution and gathering feedback for continuous improvement.
- Drive digital and segment-specific approaches, aligning with sales, digital, and ITS stakeholders to create an omnichannel approach.
- Interface regularly with executives, providing status updates, resolving issues, and acting as a trusted advisor.
Education and/or Experience Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or Project Management, OR
- 9 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or Project Management, OR
- 4 years of PPM experience and 5 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, or Project Management
Required Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with all stakeholders, including executive levels.
- Strong financial and analytical skills.
- Proven ability to develop trusted relationships at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated collaboration and teaming skills with a strong understanding of cross-functional team dynamics.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record in developing or marketing product lines, managing products through their lifecycle, and engaging with customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Five or more years of experience leading significant and complex technology projects across various solution areas.
- Deep knowledge of corporate departments, responsibilities, and processes.
- Experience managing and leading risk management activities on projects.
