JOB DESCRIPTION:

Mezcal Campante seeks a driven and ambitious, sales focused individual to join our growing company sales team in New York City. The Sales Representative will play a crucial role in increasing our brand presence and securing sales in this key market. They will be responsible for driving sales, managing retailer relationships, and supporting the positioning of Mezcal Campante within the market.


In this role, you will work directly with our CEO and lead market distributor team (SGWS). We are looking for a candidate who possesses a dynamic blend of skills and attributes that drive both individual and team success. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building strong relationships with clients and partners. A deep understanding of the spirits industry, particularly mezcal, and a passion for the product is crucial.


An appreciation of our brand ethos, identity, and creative approach is critical to communicate our values effectively. Events, activations, and brand-focused sessions will be required to further the brand. Supporting brand introductions and training will be part of the role, including the onboarding of new accounts, retailers, and team members.


As the market grows, the Sales Market Manager will have the opportunity to advance and be responsible for building and managing the sales team, including additional Sales Reps and Brand Ambassadors. This role requires flexibility and engagement, with entrepreneurial hustle being key to success.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


- Plan and execute effective sales calls, visits, and meetings with accounts.

- Build and own strong relationships with key trade accounts within the market.

- Maintain key account relationships to drive brand positioning and sell-through.

- Develop relationships with market distributor sales teams for efficient collaboration.

- Secure brand positioning through shelf positioning and menu placements.

- Coordinate sales efforts with the wholesaler to ensure the implementation of sales strategies and marketing programs.

- Work with the wholesale network to coordinate and execute a broad range of activities such as product training, tastings, promotions, events, and work-withs.

- Organize and manage promotions, campaigns, and events.

- Obtain results by effectively utilizing resources and the provided budget.

- Manage the trade accounts database to keep information up-to-date and relevant.

- Ensure all sales practices comply with state and company policies/laws.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:


- At least 3-5 years of spirit sales experience in the industry.

- Ability to hold a Solicitor’s Permit required.

- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle preferred.

- Existing solid relationships in the industry.

- Strong key account negotiation skills.

- Experience in identifying and executing events, festivals, tastings, and promotions.

- Good organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and efficiently.

- Ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, and meet deadlines.

- Willingness to be very “hands-on” to get the job accomplished.

- Ability to problem solve and an inner drive to succeed.

- A flexible schedule that allows for working some nights and weekends.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn other technologies to complete sales calls and recaps.
