Accounts Payable Coordinator

Our client in the trucking industry is hiring an Accounts Payable Coordinator The Accounts Payable Coordinator will be responsible for high-volume AP, AR, GL responsibilities, and other accounting duties. The ideal Accounts Payable Coordinator has worked in a dealership setting, comfortable with high-volume workload (100 invoices+ daily), excellent with multi-tasking, and has a positive attitude.

Duties/Responsibilities for the Accounts Payable Coordinator:

  • Checks all vouchers and obtains appropriate payment approval.
  • Prepares weekly accounts payable checks.
  • Posts weekly/monthly bills for check runs.
  • Posts Volvo open items in accounts payable daily - high volume across multiple companies.
    • (hundreds of invoices weekly)
  • Prints accounts payable reports and maintains all accounts payable files.
  • Reconciles cash schedule.
  • Sets up month-end accruals.
  • Communicates cash requirements for payable dates to the office manager.
  • Audits freight bills against freight inquiries.
  • Answers all vendor inquiries.
  • Assists with monthly closings.
  • Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
  • Assists with accounts receivable and special projects, as necessary.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and a neat work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities for the Accounts Payable Coordinator:


  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software as well as other accounting software programs.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to anticipate work needs and interact professionally with customers.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • 4-5 years of bookkeeping experience
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in Accounting Preferred.
