One of our clients, an ACCSC accredited college specializing in medical imaging and nursing degree and diploma programs across multiple states, is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Director.


Job Description:

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Director is responsible for the comprehensive oversight of program faculty and the success of students within their assigned program. This role demands a proactive approach to ensuring the program is both educationally rigorous and administratively efficient. The Program Director is expected to engage regularly with faculty, staff, and students to uphold high standards of education and foster a supportive learning environment. In this capacity, the Program Director plays a critical role in advancing our mission, with a strong focus on student success and active involvement in curriculum development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Hire, develop, and train faculty, ensuring they consistently meet professional and educational responsibilities, including ongoing CME requirements.
  • Maintain and implement an up-to-date curriculum that adapts to new developments in healthcare, ensuring alignment with educational standards.
  • Monitor and support student progress, ensuring they meet graduation, registry passage, and employment benchmarks. Provide academic advising as needed.
  • Teach 5-20 hours per week and handle administrative tasks related to student engagement, clinical site development, and program success.
  • Ensure faculty files are updated, track student progress, and enforce school policies, adhering to ACCSC standards.
  • Engage in various committees and events, including orientation, graduation, curriculum committees, and PAC meetings.
  • Organize and lead faculty meetings and training sessions to ensure quality and progression in the program.
  • Collaborate with the Externship Department to monitor clinical sites, ensuring students attain necessary clinical competencies and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Audit classes, provide instructor feedback, and assume teaching responsibilities as needed to maintain educational quality.
  • Regularly participate in and document professional growth activities, following the ACCSC faculty and administrative Individual Development Plan.


Requirements:

  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Required: Four (4) years of clinical experience in the profession.
  • Required: Must meet all applicable regulatory requirements, including those set by ACCSC and state regulatory bodies.
  • Required: Current American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) registration.
  • Preferred: Proficiency in curriculum design, evaluation, instruction, program administration, and academic advising.
