Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic medical sonograms, utilizing complex ultrasound equipment and transducers, under indirect supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform diagnostic medical sonograms, including abdominal and OB/Gynecology ultrasound examinations.
  • Utilize complex ultrasound equipment and transducers to obtain high-quality images.
  • Work under indirect supervision to ensure accurate and efficient completion of exams.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other clinicians to clarify orders and ensure accurate diagnoses.
  • Document clinical activities in a timely, comprehensive, and accurate manner.
  • Maintain equipment, supplies, and work area in accordance with department guidelines.
Requirements:
  • One (1) year of experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in a major medical center.
  • Graduate of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited ultrasound program or a graduate from a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program with current ARDMS certification.
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate - Ob-Gyn from American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Basic Life Support within four (4) months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years experience as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in a major medical center.
  • Experience with Acuson Sequoia, Philips iu-22 and Clickview ultrasound reporting package.
Additional Requirements:
  • Competency in components of sonography as listed: routine abdomen; abdomen doppler; small parts; thyroid and obstetrics/gynecology.
