The Lateral Flow Lab Associate is a multifaceted role within quality control of reagents manufactured for use in lateral flow test kits. This position assists scientists and research associates with immunoassay development. The position supports various stages of lateral flow test strip manufacturing and testing. The successful candidate is detail-oriented, highly motivated, and willing to develop new processes where they do not exist.


What You Will Do


  • Capable of executing SOPs for the preparation of standard buffers and/or reagents.
  • Use standard lab equipment (e.g. pipettes, centrifuges, pH meter, nanodrop, and scale) to perform lab duties associated with lateral flow reagent QC.
  • Use lateral flow test strips and assembled lateral flow tests to verify reagents and collect data.
  • Assist in fabrication of lateral flow test strips that includes the following: material dispensing, lamination, cutting, and assembly.
  • Meticulously document activities into QC record forms associated with the quality management system.
  • Maintain, track, and organize cold storage inventory of test materials, retention samples, and reference samples.
  • Maintain general lab supplies and specific reagent inventory to enable efficient and productive workflows.
  • Assist with special projects and feasibility studies.
  • Assist in conducting stability and activity studies for antibodies used in lateral flow assays.
  • Perform quality testing of gold conjugated antibodies.
  • Promote the principles of quality management and quality assurance.
  • Multitasks effectively and is able to balance quality with throughput.
  • Perform additional job duties as assigned.


Who You Are & What You Bring


Educational and experiential background:

  • Associate degree or higher in relevant scientific field—biology, biochemistry, chemistry, or immunology.
  • 2+ years' experience in a related role - lateral flow assays preferred
  • Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office365.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge and ability to perform basic laboratory skills.
  • Excellent communication across organization levels and various platforms.
  • Mathematical and scientific skills.
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Solid planning, priority setting, and project management skills with experience managing multiple priorities concurrently.
