Opportunity for Senior Environmental Employment Program

The Senior Laboratory Instrument Technician role presents a significant opportunity for individuals aged 55 and above who wish to make a meaningful contribution to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This position, facilitated through the grant-managed SEE Program by National Experienced Workforce Solutions, allows you to utilize your expertise and experience to assist EPA personnel on a daily basis. In this capacity, you will operate and maintain sophisticated software-controlled analytical instruments within a radioanalytical laboratory setting.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a laboratory or related environment involving software-controlled analytical instruments and Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) operation, OR a BA/BS Degree, OR completion of training in nuclear counting instruments and software operation.
  • Proven experience in the operation and maintenance of software-controlled analytical instruments, particularly in a radioanalytical laboratory.
  • Competence in using Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and standard office equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analytical assessments and quality control procedures on radioanalytical instruments.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on radioanalytical instruments.
  • Manage environmental samples and ensure accurate LIMS data maintenance.

  • Certification standards may be necessary for participation in fieldwork.
