Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:
1. Assisting patients during their visits by escorting them to examination rooms and gathering vital health information, including vital signs, temperature, and weight.
2. Conducting laboratory procedures such as blood draws and performing diagnostic tests like EKGs and x-rays as directed by the healthcare provider.
3. Administering injections and preparing patients for various examinations, including routine procedures.
4. Supporting minor surgical procedures and assisting with wound care and laceration repairs.
5. Maintaining accurate records of prescribed medications during patient visits and assisting in medication administration and refill requests.
6. Ensuring effective communication with nursing staff, physicians, and supervisors to enhance patient care.
7. Completing all necessary clinical documentation in the electronic medical record system to comply with healthcare regulations.
8. Managing patient inquiries and relaying physician instructions effectively while maintaining a clean and organized examination environment.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- Prior experience in a medical office setting is advantageous.
- Proficiency in using multi-line telephones, computers, and healthcare-related equipment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent customer service abilities.
- Familiarity with CPT and ICD coding, electronic medical records, and laboratory testing procedures.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity.
- Must meet departmental attendance standards.
