What you‘ll do

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Temporary HR Compliance Coordinator to join our dynamic team in Carlsbad, CA

This role will will support Viasat‘s P&C (People & Culture) Leadership and Compliance Teams, and the wider P&C team with the administration of day-to-day and seasonal activities. In this role you will support, organize and administer the following:


The day-to-day

  • P&C Operations related administrative items, including but not limited to tracking compliance issues, in office I-9 Verifications, and timely response to all P&C mail, both physical and shared team mailbox
  • Serve as point of contact and complete applications for P&C diversity focused award submissions prior to fixed deadlines etc.
  • Establish accounts with state unemployment services, respond promptly to unemployment claims as directed, and maintain a record of all claims and their status in a timely matter.
  • Track diversity focused outreach and recruitment activities real-time in line with annual compliance goals
  • Compliance coordination of labor law Posters and notices for required US state-wide programs ensuring they are up to date
  • Company recognition program administration, including service awards, reconciling employee departures & cancellation requests, processing invoices, reporting of equity and alert issues etc.
  • Meeting coordination/support (as applicable) for audit preparation, audits/interview meetings and post audit briefings.
  • Viasat‘s driver program, including tracking of background investigation results and reporting
  • Work with Security/Facilities team as needed to process security review for people with US Government clearance

What you‘ll need

  • 1+ year of administrative experience or equivalent experience
  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality

What will help you on the job

  • Human Resources coursework, seminars, or certificate in Human Resources
  • Prior HR experience or interest in HR
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Salary range

$19.95 - $28.37 / hourly. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $25 - $33.65/ hourly
