Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client is a leading financial services company and they are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. The Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the company's payable accounts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the payment process. This role involves verifying invoices, processing payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist:

  • The Account Payable Specialist will review and verify invoices and check requests.
  • Sort, code, match invoice and set invoices up for payment.
  • Enter and upload invoices into the system.
  • Track expenses and process expense reports.
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries.
  • Assist with month-end closing.
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 4+ years of accounts payable experience.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with Great Plains
