Position Overview:
The Budget Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the organization's budgeting processes, ensuring financial sustainability, and providing strategic financial insights. This role involves collaborating with various departments to develop, monitor, and analyze budgets, forecasts, and financial reports. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of non-profit accounting principles. CURRENT NON PROFIT EXPERIENCE IS 100% REQUIRED.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee the preparation of annual operating budgets, including revenue and expense forecasting.
- Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analysis to monitor budget performance and identify variances.
- Collaborate with program managers and department heads to ensure accurate and timely budget submissions and revisions.
- Provide detailed financial reports and presentations to senior management and the Board of Directors.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements, particularly those specific to non-profit and faith-based organizations.
- Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and financial reports for funding agencies.
- Maintain and enhance financial models to support long-term planning and decision-making.
- Provide training and support to staff on budget-related processes and best practices.
- Stay current with industry trends and developments in non-profit financial management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in budget analysis, financial planning, or a related accounting role. Must have current non profit experience
- Strong proficiency in financial software and tools, including:
- QuickBooks
- Sage Intacct
- Microsoft Excel (advanced skills required) The client uses PIVOT, Sumifs, XLookups tables often
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles, fund accounting, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with regulations governing non-profit financial record-keeping and reporting (regarding grants and donor requirements)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Compensation & Benefits:
Base salary will be in the $85-$90K range
Only local Denver candidates will be considered
Company is working a 3/2 hybrid schedule and office is located in East Denver.
