We have been retained by an industry leading privately held consumer product organization who is actively seeking a senior level Electrical Design Engineer due to a recently announced retirement. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role will support design and development of electrical and wiring systems and schematics. This is a permanent, direct-hire position.


POSITION OVERVIEW

  • Design, develop, and document industrial wiring systems and electrical schematics.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to optimize electrical design for manufacturability, reliability, and performance.
  • Contribute to the design release process, ensuring all electrical design documentation is complete, accurate, and formally approved before production.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise to manufacturing and field service teams as needed.
  • Create and maintain Bills of Material (BOMs).
  • Calculations & design for PV systems – mainly dealing with AC/DC electrical design, interconnection methods, DC stringing, NEC code compliance, utility requirement compliance,
  • Review of design documents prepared by others
  • Review of new projects for required project details and design feasibility
  • Design relay protection schemes and SCADA controls based on utility and project requirements
  • Lead design projects that require design support for external partners


POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
  • 5-10+ years of electrical design engineering experience.
  • High proficiency with Solidworks and/or AutoCAD.
  • Significant exposure to the design release phase of the product development lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of electrical codes, quality standards, and regulations relevant to industrial equipment.
