About the Role

Capgemini Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Core Engine Calibration Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Powertrain Systems team, you will be responsible for the calibration and validation of core engine functions, supporting BSG, PHEV, and ICE variants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the commissioning of test properties (Dynamometers) at client sites and collaborate with logistics and test technology teams to ensure operational efficiency KPIs are met.
  • Create and execute test plans in accordance with calibration processes, ensuring robust calibration development per Calibration Maturity milestones.
  • Post-processing test data to support calibration development and collaborate with the Calibration and Propulsion System teams.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and stakeholders to resolve engineering challenges and ensure Functional Objectives are satisfied.
  • Support ECM SW Validation efforts on HIL, engine dynamometer, and vehicle, tracking and escalating identified SW issues.
  • Support tracking and reporting of calibration maturity progress and risk mitigation steps amongst various stakeholders.
  • Document Lessons Learned, Calibration Process Improvements, and Development of New Calibration Methodology working with Engineering.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related degree.
  • Knowledge of Fundamentals of Internal Combustion Engines, Core Engine Calibration, Controls Algorithm validation.
  • Knowledge of Air-flow Estimation, Emissions Calibration, Torque Estimation, Thermal Model Calibration, and Engine Rating aspects of core engine calibration.
  • Experience managing engine dynamometer or a similar test property.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Powertrain Systems Engineering experience developing Engine HW, Controls/SW, Calibration.
  • Experience troubleshooting engine dynamometer and test cell instrumentation.
  • Drivability and Emissions calibration, Hybrid Powertrain calibration experience.
  • Knowledge of INCA/AVL CRETA or similar calibration management tools.
  • Knowledge of advanced data processing tools such as MATLAB Simulink.
  • Knowledge of Controls, Software development, and HIL validation methodology.
