Job Description:

- Administer nursing care within the scope of practice under the direction of registered healthcare professionals.
- Administer oxygen, apply sterile dressings, and perform catheter insertions.
- Reinsert gastrotomy tubes, perform wound irrigation, and administer enemas/douches.
- Collect specimens and perform dialysis treatments.
- Assist in emergencies through first-aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.
- Administer controlled and non-controlled medications in various forms and instruct patients on medication usage.
- Maintain medication accountability records, including charting and counting medication stock.
- Document and report patient conditions, including medication reactions and progress.
- Provide general nursing care and assistance with daily activities, personal grooming, and hygiene.
- Respond to patient alarms and schedule medical appointments.
- Escort patients and assist with recreational activities and group interventions.
- Provide work direction and training to lower-level direct care staff.
- Participate in staff meetings, conferences, and training programs.
- Order medications and supplies, maintain cleanliness of the nurse's station, and perform clerical tasks.
- Operate and maintain medical equipment and follow HIPAA regulations and standards.
- Establish rapport with patients and recognize emergency conditions to take appropriate action.
