LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant for a growing law firm in Roseland, NJ. This role will play a crucial part in supporting the Litigation Department. The opportunity is direct hire, full time, and on-site.


Responsibilities:

  • Organize, maintain, and manage legal documents ensuring documents are filed accurately and promptly
  • Utilize eCourts, NYSCEF, and PACER to file with NJ, NY, and Federal Court
  • Assist in the preparation of legal documents, such as briefs, motions, and discovery requests
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties as directed
  • Schedule and manage appointments, hearings, and court dates; remind attorneys of upcoming deadlines and court appearances
  • Assist with the preparation of client invoices, track billable hours, and ensure accurate record-keeping for client billing purposes
  • Provide general administrative support, including drafting correspondence, answering phones, and managing emails
  • Assist in organizing legal seminars, conferences, and speaking engagements related to attorneys’ involvement in cannabis law and other legal areas


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6+ years work experience in a firm setting
  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, paralegal certification, or equivalent work experience is preferred
  • Strong litigation background
  • Experience e-filing in both State (NJ/NY) and Federal Court
  • Working knowledge of NetDocuments or similar document management application
  • Experience using SurePoint or similar billing software experience
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word and Outlook as well as an ability to quickly learn other applications
  • Knowledge of digital dictation preferred
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and manage workflow, especially in dynamic environments.
  • Polished, professional and ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and concisely.
