Our client seeks an adept Accounting Manager to oversee all aspects of financial operations. This role involves managing fixed assets, leading a team of accountants, optimizing processes, and implementing new systems. Experience with Sage or NetSuite is a plus, as is familiarity with integrating POS systems into the general ledger and automating accounts payable.


Responsibilities

  • Initiate and manage changes in accounting practices, systems, and organizational frameworks.
  • Effectively communicating changes to team members and stakeholders, addressing their concerns, and providing necessary support.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger by meticulously recording all financial transactions.
  • Reviewing and approving journal entries and account reconciliations completed by team members.
  • Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
  • Analyzing financial data and presenting insights to senior management for informed decision-making.
  • Meeting all deadlines and delivering accurate, reliable financial reports.
  • Collaborating with IT and other departments to implement new accounting systems or upgrades.
  • Providing expertise during the selection and implementation of new systems.
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities within the accounting department, including automation.

Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Financial Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of fixed asset accounting principles and industry best practices.
  • Software Proficiency: Skilled in using accounting software and ERP systems, with a preference for experience in system implementation.
  • Analytical Acumen: Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Effective Leadership and Communication: Demonstrated capacity to lead and inspire teams effectively, with exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Process Improvement and Change Management: Proven success in driving process improvement initiatives and managing organizational change.
