Gateway Fiber is seeking an outstanding individual to fill our Staff Accountant role. Gateway is creating a leading, national fiber-to-the-home platform. Expected Outcomes and Requirements:
With Gateway’s rapid growth comes aggressive plans for construction of Gateway’s network and 10x customer growth over the next 12 months.  Gateway is hiring a Staff Accountant to support this growth and maintain the highest level of customer service Gateway is proud to offer and leverages to differentiate us from the competition.  The successful Staff Accountant will contribute to the success of Gateway’s growth objectives in the following ways:
  • Maintain integrity of AP system including entry & verifying of invoices
  • Plays a key role in month-end close process including the preparation of journal entries and GL account reconciliations
  • Supports work with auditors, tax advisors and lenders
  • Prepare quarterly sales and use tax returns
  • Assists with tracking fixed assets, depreciation and inventory
  • Assist with preparation of government grant reimbursement requests and grant tracking
  • Assists with payroll and benefits processing for staff
  • Supports key financial and operational reporting to management and Board
  • Posts cash transactions from bank account into accounting software and monitors liquidity
  • Prepare and maintain roll-forwards and schedules
The successful candidate will bring the following to the table:
  • 5 years or less of experience in a similar capacity
  • Working understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Ability to work independently, as part of a larger team, and with guided direction
  • Hyper organized with demonstrated administrative efficiency
  • Trustworthy
  • Flexible and open to growth opportunities; jumps in to tackle projects
  • Superb communication and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Relevant work experience in a comparable role
  • Microsoft Office suite proficiency, especially excel
  • Proficiency and experience with standard financial systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc.), NetSuite specific experience preferred
  • Ability to sit or stand at a workstation for prolonged periods of time
