Plant Quality Manager

Position Summary
In this position the Quality Manager will plan, direct, and coordinate the OPmobility Quality Program for e-Power USA, a leader in Lithium batteries for commercial and automotive applications. You will be expected to direct all quality department associates regarding the organization’s policies and practices. As a management Quality representative, you will be responsible to maintain the integrity of the Quality Management System, understand and meet customer expectations, as well as various statutory and regulatory requirements. This position reports to the Managing Director with functional reporting to the Quality Director.
Supplier Quality:
- Manage the OPmobility Quality team
- Present information and/or respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, suppliers, co-workers, or management
- Monitor internal and supplier quality performance
- Champion proactive solutions to ensure acceptable quality performance
- Review, analyze, and interpret regulatory, scientific, and technical documents
- Effectively communicate and direct ISO standards training activities
- Effectively communicate and direct OPmobility Quality Management System training activities
- Conduct supplier audits
- Monitor, communicate, and improve key supply chain performance indicators (KPI’s)
Product Inspection:
- Direct incoming inspection and troubleshooting material issues (form/fit/function)
- Perform audits on product and processes to ensure PPAP and Process documentation follows required standards
- Direct MRB process
Quality:
- Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems
- Identify and record problems relating to product/process/quality system
- Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels
- Verify the implementation of solutions
- Apply quality techniques, disciplines, and standards
- Meet performance goals detailed in the quality engineer task and oversight reports
- Assist in managing gauge control
- Assist in MSA requirements
- Use and calibrate measurement equipment
- Effectively respond to inquiries, complaints, or opportunities for improvement from customers, co-workers, and management
- Analyze and interpret scientific and technical documents
- Investigate technologies, processes, and methods for improving efficiencies and increasing product quality and reliability
Legal Compliance:
- Ensure legal compliance with state, federal, and OSHA requirements
- Ensure ISO procedures are followed
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years related experience in Quality Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Training and experience in Total Quality Management (TQM), Lean, or Six Sigma preferred
- Experience in electronics device design highly preferred
- Experience in Tier 1 & 2 automotive component manufacturing or similar fields is preferred
- Experience working within a design and manufacturing environment
- Proficient computer skills with MS Office or similar systems (Word/Excel/Power Point/Access)

- Must have demonstrable experience in the following quality techniques, disciplines, and standards:
- APQP-PPAP/CP/FMEA
- Failure and test data analysis
- QMS Audit Principals
- CMM/Keyence IM/WM Programming
- Statistical Analysis/Process Control (SPC) and or layout experience
- Sampling Principals
- Supplier Auditing
- Blueprint Interpretation/Basic GD&T
- Internal Auditing
- MSA – Prior use of measurement tools
- Corrective Action/Root Cause Analysis
- Gauge R & R
- Process Capability, Control, and Improvement
- ISO 9001:2015
Job Soft Skills
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, work well with diverse groups of people, and be able function independently of direct supervision
- Able to work as part of a team and possess the ability to train a team to accomplish goals and objectives
- Knowledge with IATF/Automotive Quality System Requirements and Auditing Principals
- Proven ability to effectively use quality engineering tools
