Position Summary:

The Lab Technician is responsible for maintaining, calibrating, and ensuring the functionality of all laboratory instruments. The

role requires close attention to detail, ensuring that instruments are maintained to high standards, minimizing downtime, and

ensuring compliance with all relevant industry regulations and internal standards. This position is also responsible for ensuring

quality control in sample preparation and analysis. This position plays a critical role in supporting the quality assurance processes

of the Materials department.


Objectives & Responsibilities

● Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and validation of laboratory instruments, ensuring they meet regulatory

standards.

● Troubleshoot and repair faulty instruments to prevent disruptions in laboratory operations.

● Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance, calibration, and repair activities.

● Implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure all equipment is functioning optimally.

● Assist in the development and updating of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to instrument maintenance and

calibration.

● Collaborate with QA/QC and production teams to ensure instruments are calibrated and maintained according to

project needs.

● Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards

● Prepare standard samples by following written SOPs in accordance with safety and contamination-prevention

procedures using general wet lab equipment.

● Analyze samples for quality control metrics.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

● 2-3 years of experience in QA/QC laboratory instrument maintenance and calibration.

● Experience in a regulated environment (e.g., GMP, ISO) is highly preferred.

Skills

● Strong technical skills in laboratory instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.

● Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

● Proficiency in using maintenance management software and tools.

● Strong organizational and documentation skills

Certifications

● Relevant technical certifications in instrument maintenance, calibration, or quality assurance preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

● Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements for laboratory equipment.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

● Prior experience working in thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and/or differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)

● Prior experience with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and/or Fourier transform infrared (FTIR)

spectroscopy


Physical Requirements

● Ability to work with delicate instruments and perform detailed repairs.

● Must be able to lift and carry equipment as necessary.
