My client are a purpose-driven climate adaptation data company set to revolutionize how the world manages assets, property, and infrastructure.

They've embarked on an exciting project to provide meaningful insights into how our changing climate will impact property. From individuals with one property to businesses with millions of assets, our platform displays risks from severe weather events across multiple climate change scenarios and calculates the cost of that damage to asset valuation.

They will help customers be more resilient to climate change, meet regulatory requirements, and make smarter investment decisions. We work with leading climate scientists, AI specialists, and financial services professionals.

This exciting opportunity involves establishing the North American commercial presence for a UK headquartered Climate FinTech start-up. You'll lead the sales efforts in the region and have the potential to grow with the company. Initially, your focus will be on building relationships with key Banking and Real Estate management companies. They have support from industry leaders in banking, real estate, and technology sectors, and we're expanding into various industries with defined use cases.

Their climate risk platform automates the assessment of physical risk related to climate change into the future. There is a growing market demand driven by executive-level directives to focus on reducing the impact of climate change and ensuring financial resilience by incorporating this new area of risk into financial decisions. You'll be selling an innovative product developed by our team of climate scientists, which already has adoption by market leaders in the UK and Europe. You'll be supported by recognized industry advisors and our team of sales and product professionals.

I am looking for an experienced Account Executive to join the team and help drive sales of the SaaS product into financial services and real estate clients in the US market. As the first hire in the US, you will be responsible for building and executing a sales strategy to drive revenue growth, build relationships with key clients, and help shape the future direction of our company in the US market. You will work independently for a large proportion of your time, with support from our London-based team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead sales efforts and act as the voice of expertise from initial outreach to onboarding.
  • Support sales enablement and marketing initiatives.
  • Acquire and integrate industry knowledge related to trends, emerging technologies, and competitors.
  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to drive revenue growth in the US financial services and real estate sectors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and tailoring solutions.
  • Collaborate with our team of climate scientists, risk analysts, and data scientists to develop innovative solutions.
  • Deliver presentations and demonstrations to potential clients.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record in business development and B2B sales.
  • Experience in the financial services or real estate sectors.
  • Ability to build relationships across organizations.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to understand complex data.
  • Passionate about climate change and its impact.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • 5 years experience within SaaS sales

  • Experience in enterprise sales.
  • Experience in a fast-paced SaaS or technology start-up.
  • Experience with CRM tools.
  • Knowledge of climate modeling and analytics.
