Job Description:

Opportunity to work within the Materials and Process Engineering organization, focusing on material documentation, compliance, obsolescence, and shelf life management. This role will support the Materials Management section encompassing the following tasks.

The Sr. Materials Management Engineer job is in Tucson, AZ and the position is onsite.

What You Will Do:

  • Creation and maintenance of material and process specifications.

  • Creation and maintenance of RMD and supplier test instructions.

  • Material obsolescence tracking and management.

  • Review and approval of material shelf life.

  • Support Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain organizations by resolving issues related to the procurement of material and other tasks to ensure the use of compliant material at RMD.

  • The ideal candidate will have a scientific background, preferably chemistry, good organizational and problem solving skills, the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, experience with technical documentation, and attention to detail.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience. In absence of a degree, 9+ years of experience. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for additional years of experience

  • Experience in using: material safety datasheets, and/or technical datasheets

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in engineering technical writing and specifications (internal or commercial or military) .

  • Needs to be able to communicate with parties within and outside of own discipline.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures

  • Must be a self-starter and able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

  • Must set high quality standard and be action oriented

  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build solid relationships with a vast array of team members.

  • High emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skillset

  • MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
